Why Backpack?

Backpack is a silicon valley based marketplace connecting shoppers and travelers with a keen eye on providing excellent overseas shopping and traveling experience. Our mission is to legally deliver items from abroad that you’ve always wanted but couldn't get because they aren’t locally available, or you don't have relatives and friends who can bring them for you. It’s a lot like when you ask a cousin to bring back an item from the US by paying her in advance.

 

Essentially, we connect you to travelers willing to carry your requested items all the while ensuring that your Backpacking experience is fast, reliable, hassle-free.

 

The way it works is that once you find your desired item and pay for it at checkout, we purchase it within the next 72 hours. Soon afterward, we send the newly purchased item to a traveler who’ll carry it for you in their luggage. Once in Bangladesh, we collect the item from the traveler and deliver it to your hands. Between receiving confirmation of your payment and delivering your item, the entire process typically takes 16 days; simple yet magical! 

Buying Items

Once you’ve found the item you're looking to buy, click on it to go to the item page. Here you can also check out the item price breakdown by clicking on the price. To place your order, just follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Checkout

Click on the Buy Now button to take the item directly to checkout

Step 2: Choosing Delivery Method

Select your preferred delivery method

Step 3: Selecting Payment Method

Once you've decided how you want to receive your item, decide on your payment method. The methods we have available are through bKash, credit/debit card, bank deposit, electronic bank transfer, and PayPal. 

Step 4: Payment Process Completion

Finally, we need you to complete the payment procedure; the image below shows the section for a bKash payment.

 

Step 5: Invoice Status

Once that's taken care of, your invoice payment status will show up as paid.

Step 6: Getting Connected

As soon as we've received confirmation of payment, we’ll purchase the item within the following 72 hours. 

After purchase, we’ll connect it to a traveler who’s flying to Bangladesh and has agreed to carry your items in their luggage.

 

Right afterward, we’ll create a connection page where you’ll find all relevant information such as traveler/item details and estimated delivery date along with updates on your item’s status at regular intervals. 

 

 

Step 7: Track Your Purchase

While your item is on the way, you'll be able to track your package for updates

Step 8: Collect Your Item

Soon after the traveler hands your item over to us in Bangladesh, we can go about the final delivery in 3 ways: home delivery, courier service, and shopper pickup. With home delivery and courier service, you’ll receive the items at your doorsteps, whereas with shopper pick up, you'll need to head over to our delivery point at Mohakhali DOHS and collect the item in person.
